Respite by the River 2019

   May thru October

Take a break from the rush of everyday life and join the River Parkway Trust for a Respite by the River. Bring your picnic dinner, blanket and lawn chair, and relax on the Ranch House front lawn while you enjoy music provided by talented local musicians. Macca's Wine Bar will be open during the dinner hour with wines for sale by the glass. Then you'll enjoy a reading by a Central Valley author. Dessert will be available for sale.

This year the first and last performances and readings will be held in the new barn on the River Center property, following the same pattern as the usual events--people bring their picnic dinners and enjoy the music from 6-7, then the author reads from 7-8. Wine and dessert are available for purchase.

This event is a free gift to the community from the Parkway and all of its participants--all of our time is considered a donation toward this end. This entire season is dedicated to the memory of Peter Everwine, who gave his last reading at the Respite in September, 2018, just weeks before his passing. Peter was a renowned banjo player, active in the FFS and local music scene for many years, as well as one of the finest lyric poets who ever lived. (Megan Bohigian)
